Competition Commission of India |
Competition and Procurement process have an indispensable interface. A fulfilled coopetition law leads to efficiency and a well-regulated procurement process. As an anti-trust body, it is in the interest of the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to look into matters connected with bid rigging and collusive bidding in the Government procurement and thereby help the government and government agencies in achieving the best value for money. OECD reports have occasionally highlighted how this role of the commissions has helped in achieving up to 15-20% economy in the process of procurement in some OECD countries. To enforce the provisions against anti-competitive practices like bid rigging, abuse of dominance or collusive bidding, the Commission passes appropriate orders and imposes penalties after the enquiry. |
